The New School Year Doesn’t Have to Kill Your Workout

Ring the bell. School is soon to be back in session. For many, the idea of routine and schedule is a welcomed change to a summer free from obligation. But as you look ahead to the new school year, there are commitments to add to your calendar: school meetings, kids’ sports practices, pick-u, and drop-off. Oftentimes the first things to be dropped from our daily routines are the things that are actually best for us, physically and mentally. Things like exercise or meal planning get put on the back burner in place of the many demands of a school year. With just a little bit of careful planning, you don’t have to say goodbye to your health for the sake of added responsibilities.

Make the Time

Exercise is often the first thing to be eliminated from a daily routine because of the time it takes. That’s why it is important to find a work-out option that is highly effective and also works for the realities of your schedule. FIT36 is a quick and intense option that will give you the results you are looking for in the time that you have. There is science behind our 36-minute workout and when you see the results you get, you become a believer in short, intense, HIIT workouts.

Put it in Your Schedule

Find a space in your day where you can exercise consistently and stick with it. Maybe it is mornings before you get the kids off to school. Maybe it’s right after you drop off the kids. Maybe evenings during a child’s practice or activity where you have an hour to wait. FIT36 offers morning and evening classes for your convenience. Check out a studio in your area to find a time that works best for you! Whichever you choose, stay consistent and make it an immovable part of your weekly plan.

Friends and Accountability

Find someone who you can work out with. Another parent you have met in one of your kids’ classes or use your lunch hour to get a quick work out in with a fellow employee. It’s always easier to keep a commitment when you are not trying to do it alone. One of the best parts of our HIIT classes is the friendships built here. Tell someone in class you will see them tomorrow and hold each other to it.

Don’t allow the many demands of a new school year to take away your best life. Exercise is important to your wellbeing—both your mental health and your physical health. In fact, if you work out consistently, you will find that you have more energy to get all of the other tasks done. With greater energy, you may realize you have more time in your day than you thought. Set a plan, stick with it, find a friend and jump into this new season with confidence and anticipation for a better you!
